Solar panel manufacturers will have a hard time boosting revenues this year with Germany cutting government incentives at a time when the market is flush with supply, industry analysts believe.

Solar shares were among the hardest hit Tuesday in the energy sector, with the largest U.S. provider, First Solar Inc., tumbling more than 8 pct.

There have been a couple of articles floating around suggesting that solar modules installed on strings with voltages greater than 600V may be subject to accelerated degradation.  Is this true?

Most modules in Australia have voltage limits of 1000V and SMA's tripower inverters have dc voltage limits of 1000V - it seems a shame to waste this capacity as well as the potential BOS savings that can be achieved by having longer strings rather than more strings in parallel.

If we go to replace a damaged panel or do some other work on an existing grid connect installation, when are we obliged to bring that existing system up to current standards? ie earthing all the panels.

If we find a fault with the existing system who should we report this to?
